About My Story
It’s hard to explain how much Christmas means to me. For all Christians, it celebrates the birth of the Christ child and the hope He brought to the earth. No matter what kind of year it’s been—and 2020 has been one for the record books!—I regain hope and positivity with the joys of the holiday season. While I’m not that much of a traditionalist (I don’t think), the holidays make me into one, and holiday romances give me a chance to embrace those traditions in fiction even when I might not get to in real life. At the end of the day, it is magic to me. I hope it is to you, too.
In Wisdom of the Heart, my characters held each other’s hearts twenty years before as teenagers, but life intervened. Now they’re both back in Dickens, finding new friendship in an old place. Fee’s daughter and Jed’s stepsons are mostly grown, they’re both in good emotional places. But Fee wants to stay in Dickens forever, running Silver Threads and Golden Needles, her quilt shop, and Jed wants to stay on the road and in the air as a photojournalist. Can they find a way to meet in the middle?
I included this recipe in the It's a Dickens of a Cookie! recipe book because it makes me think of the entire holiday season—I make them a ton of times from September through New Year’s. Also, I confess, I love most anything pumpkin, and these have just enough!
