Author Spotlight: New Peggy Jaeger Release

We all love a good matchmaker story. Don't we? Well, at least I do. (I actually have a matchmaker series of my very own!) Fans of the matchmaker trope have reason to be excited as Peggy Jaeger launches her brand new, small town, matchmaker romance series this month!

I've invited Peggy to join us today on the blog so she can share all the goodies about her Heaven's Matchmaker series. Welcome, Peggy!

Maddie, thank you so much for hosting me today and for letting me introduce my new series to your readers and fans. I love being here!

MIX & MATCH is the first book in my new small town romance series HEAVEN’S MATCHMAKER. Lest you think this is a celestially inspired series with cherubim and cupids floating about  - it’s not. Heaven is the name of the tiny town I invented and situated in New Hampshire, where I hail from. Hey – write what and where you know, right? LOL.

Heaven was first introduced in my Match Made in Heaven series (get it?) from a few years ago and some of the secondary characters in those books were so dear to me that I wanted to give them their own stories and happily ever after endings.

Olivia Joyner is Heaven’s local matchmaker and very good at her job. She has a sad past that I’m detailing in a later book in the series, but she lives to help people get connected with their soul mate. Liv was first seen in TODAY, TOMORROW, ALWAYS, book 2 in the Match Made in Heaven books and from the moment she appeared on the page I wanted to write her story.

Not knowing much about how a matchmaker works – how she finds clients, how she pairs them up – I did a deep dive into researching the role. I was fascinated to find that this centuries old occupation , which has usually worked by word of mouth, has become one of the biggest online options for the looking-for-love-crowd. Do a quick Google search and you will find pages and pages devoted to individual matchmaking services and matchmakers. Incredible.

We all remember the Fiddler on the Roof song Matchmaker, Matchmaker, Make me a match. The Yenta in that picture was a well-known and respected woman in the community. In one of my favorite movies, The Quiet Man, Barry Fitzgerald assumes the role of Babhdóir, the matchmaker, for John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. Before the digital age ruled the world individual people – usually women, assumed the role of matching single women with men of stature in the community. They were typically hired by the family of single daughters to find husbands for those daughters.

Nowadays, men and women alike use the services of matchmakers in the hope of finding someone they can be compatible enough with to share a lifetime loving.

I tend to think Olivia Joyner is a big fan of matchmaking rom-com movies. Lol.

Divorced and lonely, nurse Jasmine Green retains the services of Heaven, NH’s very own successful matchmaker, Olivia Joyner. The bar scene and dating apps give Jasmine hives and Liv’s reputation is stellar. If anyone can help guide her through the quagmire that dating has become, Olivia can.

Architect Donovan Boyd is ready to settle down. He wants the kind of marriage his parents have; long lasting, filled with love, children, and joy. But even after a year of living and working in Heaven he’s still considered an outsider by many. Meeting the type of woman he’s looking for is hard in the tightknit community. Retaining Olivia Joyner to help him find his forever love is one of the smartest things he’s done, especially after she sets him up with Jasmine Green.

But the red-haired, green-eyed beauty wants a different kind of marriage from the one Donovan considers ideal.

Can these two strong willed people learn to compromise so they can both find their happily ever after? Or will their relationship forever be relegated to the friend zone?

Maddie, again, thanks a million for allowing me to visit today. Be well and happy reading, kids!

Peggy Jaeger writes contemporary romances and rom coms about strong women, the families who support them, and the men who can’t live without them.

Family and food play huge roles in Peggy’s stories because she believes there is nothing that holds a family structure together like sharing a meal…or two…or ten. Dotted with humor and characters that are as real as they are loving, Peggy brings all aspects of life into her stories: life, death, sibling rivalry, illness, and the desire for everyone to find their own happily ever after. Growing up the only child of divorced parents she longed for sisters, brothers and a family that vowed to stick together no matter what came their way. Through her books, she has created the families she wanted as that lonely child.

As a lifelong diarist, she caught the blogging bug early on, and you can visit her at where she blogs daily about life, writing, and stuff that makes her go "What??!"
